HISTORY - WORKSHOP CUENCA February, 17-25, 2003 - MIDE University of Castilla-La
Mancha
Cuenca has been the last workshop before the final conclusions. For that, the three coordinators proposed the idea of forming four working groups to share the contents of the differents areas of work that we had been developing during the last 8 months of working about the EGALAB objectives : Group 1: Motion Capture Group 2. Collaborative Space Group 3. Structure of E-Galab site Group 4. Theoretical aspects The Cuenca’s workshop program gave us the opportunity to share and to discuss, during the first two days, about the work developed by each of the three groups (CIANT, CYPRES and MIDE) and to focus the works and the contents around the new four working groups created especially for this workshop. After 10 working days, each group presented their conclusions in a general meeting. A very exciting discussion was produced during this last meeting. Different points of view about the conception of the Gallery and Lab permitted a very rich results and conclusions, as it will be presented by the EGALAB group to the European Commission in the Final report in Prague during 28-29 march. MIDE also organized an opening meeting with some of the most advanced students of the School of Fine Arts of Cuenca, with the aim of making EGALAB LAB’s prototype known to the people that had not heard anything before about the system and to give them the opportunity to test it. Another telematic action (performance) was planned in the meeting for a week after Cuencas’ workshop. The idea was also to test the prototype through the current Internet systems inside a real situation. During the meeting, some coordinators and a design group were set up to collect practical and theoretical material from the conclusions of each group after the meeting. It was also decided to form a work group to travel to Prague a week before of the Final Presentation to prepare audiovisual presentations and the EGALAB web site.
Respect the organization of the workshop (logistic), the MIDE’s
team could organized it, in the best way ,thanks to the support of the
Vice-Chancellor of Cuenca and the Science and Technology General Organization
of the Junta of Castilla-La Mancha, through an economical grant (1800
€ and 5720 € respectively). |
